Condors are occasional visitors to Cerro Tololo. There were three this time, an adult male and two others - it's a little difficult to tell the difference between the females and the juveniles. They just cruise around in the thermals, wings straight out and rigid, like Lancaster bombers, steering with their tails and primary feathers. I was intrigued to note that they fly around with their heads tilted on one side to get a good look at what's below.
